About Dr Alba Soares Pereira
Dr Alba Soares Pereira is an experienced NHS GP and British Menopause Society (BMS) Accredited Menopause Specialist based at Charing Cross Hospital, part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in West London.
With over 20 years of combined medical and surgical experience, she is dedicated to providing evidence-based, compassionate care to women navigating the complexities of perimenopause and menopause.
Originally from Brazil, Dr Pereira began her medical journey with training in General Surgery before moving to the UK, leading her to the surgical department at Imperial College and eventually to a career in General Practice.
Dr Pereira is passionate about women's health, focusing on raising awareness, addressing stigma, and normalising conversations about menopause. She actively participates in educational initiatives, including serving as a Board Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) North West London Faculty since 2015. Her contributions were recognised by the Faculty in 2020.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Pereira engages in public education through social media and podcasts, discussing topics like menopause management and the importance of effective communication in healthcare. She has also spoken at events such as Pulse LIVE Liverpool, sharing her insights on managing menopause in primary care.
Her diverse training across various regions in England has given her a deep understanding of the country's multicultural population and the unique healthcare needs within it and Dr Pereira continues to work within the NHS and her private practice, striving to empower patients through education and personalised care.
